Love these old pictures of Madagascar that you so expertly scan and present, Richard.
Richard Standley: I am pleased you like them Ray, thanks.

Youppie !

Et toi , Tu vas mieux?
De gros bisous à toi
Richard Standley: Je vais beaucoup mieux merci Sev.
J'espère que tout va bien pour toi.
A très bientôt. Bisous

A step back in time - this does have a nostalgic feel to it. It's pretty good for a paper scan - have you still got the negative?
Ingrid
Richard Standley: Unfortunatly I have lost most of my negatives during my numerous removals. Thanks Ingrid.

Excellent. What I like most is the man in the typical 1960's sunday suit and hat.
Richard Standley: Many thanks Louis.

Un moment retro, pourquoi pas ?
Richard Standley: De bons souvenirs de longs moments passés dans la chambre noire!
Very cool shot. Keep digging in the archives.
I wonder what that round stone is for.
Richard Standley: Thanks Michael. This stone was rolled on the side to close the gate.
I love the old feel of this Richard, because it is of course. I wonder if it still like this now.
Richard Standley: I hope that it is still up as many monuments of the past have been destroyed over there!

The scanned print looks very good with the slight toning. Somehow it looks old...perhaps it's the guy's clothes. Nice one.
Richard Standley: Many thanks Don.

I remember 1969 and somehow this seems so much older than that - archives indeed Richard! Do you ever ask yourself "was I really there?" Anyway terrific image and I love your archives...
Richard Standley: It seems much older probably because of the way the man is dressed. You're right, sometimes when looking at these old pictures I feel like dreaming! Thanks for your support Daina.
After seeing the results I think I'll do some scanning myself when I find the time. Great Richard
Richard Standley: Thank you Albert.

This is a very interesting snap. I like the determination in the man's step as he walks on the broken cobblestones. Also like the doorway framing the path leading to the left.
Richard Standley: Thank you AC. I am pleased you like it.

What an interesting picture - a glimpse of a past in a place I know nothing about. It looks very hot and yet the man is wearing a suit and hat...
Richard Standley: Thank you Cat. This was shot on a sunday, the reason being for the man wearing a suit.
Tes anciennes photographies sont tout un document historique. Tu as fait un travail il buien, je crois que lui il t'avait dit déjà dans ton une autre web ! smile
Richard Standley: Merci beaucoup José-Angel.
