Is this a Fort, Richard?
Richard Standley: These are the remparts of the walled town of Saint-Malo Ray. My mother's ancestor who was born in Lorient left France aboard Robert Surcouf vessel as a doctor in Saint-Malo in 1795 and disembarked in Mauitius where he spent the rest of his life.

Ah les remparts de St Malo. Un de mes amis malouin et écrivain à  publié plusieurs livres sur sa ville dont un qui s'appelle justement "Les remparts de Saint Malo. Il s'agit de Pierre-Jean Yvon mais je ne sais si on trouve encore ses ouvrages... J'aime cette belle ville, merci Richard
Richard Standley: Je l'aime beaucoup également d'autant que l'ancêtre de ma mère né à Lorient a quitté la France en tant que médecin de bord du navire de Surcouf en 1795 à Saint-Malo et a débarqué à L'Ile Maurice où il vécut le reste de ses jours.
